چکیده

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is the most common reproductive-endocrine disorder affecting 10% of women. PCOS increases risk developing diabetes and cardiovascular disease (CVD). We have previously shown high-risk young women with without an atherogenic lipoprotein profile, this exacerbated in PCOS, elevated triglycerides (TG), remnant cholesterol apoB-lipoproteins. The aim study was to determine association profile atherosclerotic CVD (ACVD) cardiac function control PCOS. In overweight-obese (BMI >25kg/m2) aged 18-45 years healthy-weight controls a standard lipid panel, cholesterol, total apoB, apoB48 apoB100-lipoproteins were determined by calorimetry western blot. Carotid intimal-medial thickness (cIMT), presence carotid plaque ultrasound 3D-echocardiography. BMI-matched (n-45) (n=20) had 25%-60% higher TG, non-HDLC, apoB apoB48-lipoproteins compared (n=10). 40% TG controls. 3- 8-fold healthy weight controls, respectively. increased cIMT, left ventricular (LV) Mass LV longitudinal strain 10-20%. High-risk ACVD early impairment indices that associated These results suggest screening primary prevention reduce premature
